Doesnt activating dofollow on your website hurt your pagerank ?? more external links are supposed to harm you PR
anyways dofollow is a great way of getting people to comment so goodluck

I think there are a lot of mixed thoughts on “do follow” “no follow” blogging and we certainly might see Google changing its algo on this in the near future to prevent spam posts let`s see.

People take the time to comment on our blogs… Why should people try to make them seem as though they don’t exist to search engines? Doesn’t make much sense to me as long as someone moderates the comments.

Actually, since going DoFollow I have had less spam postings (and no “nice blog”) since I implemented it, however, this may just be because I have been posting less because I have had to study for exams.

This is supposedly to combat more spam and I feel that it is cheating the system. There are many different people who have done research saying that these links are still taken into account and the amount of spam since this has been implemented has only increased.

The amount of spam may increase but at the very least search engines are not taking those into account as backlinks, therefore making it harder for them to get ranked (or PageRanked). As with anything, dofollow is a double edged sword. You’d definitely get more comments, but also a lot more inane comments like ‘nice blog’ or ‘Good job’ etc etc….

Of course, I’m still new to the bloggin scene so this is just my two cents.
