ProBlogger is one of the biggest blogs online that has information about blogging and making money online. This week having a birthday bash and giving away over $54,000 worth of prizes over the next seven days. There are many competitions, many involve using your blog to enter competitions and to blog about blogging. This post is part of Problogger’s Birthday bash. Share your own blogging tips and win one of many cool prizes!
One of the things that interested me about this competition is that it wanted clues about how to blog from the blogosphere itself. As any faithful reader of this blog knows, I do not really know how to blog except from what I have read from other sites and am currently looking for a blog mentor, if anyone is interested please contact me.
However, After reading much advice about blogging the things that you need to do to succeed depend on how you measure success. If your aim is to spread knowledge, and invite a community to discuss things that are interesting or important to you then the key to this is getting people to read your content and to keep on returning. This is the aim of my blog and as such - the following three most important things you need to to attain success are:
1. Make your blog something people want to read
If your blog is boring, something that you are not proud of, and there is better content in more reputable places, not only will you never get noticed, but if you do no-one would consider coming back.
2. Post Quality Content and Make yourself Different
Stand out from the crowd, something that all crowds have in common is that they are an indistinguishable mass where no-one is remembered. This may be good if you are part of an angry mob, but if you want to be memorable and promote your community and return visitors then Make what you say count. Make it different, addictive and make it your very own. You are an individual so make your blog share your personality.
3. Encourage People to Come Back to Your Blog
If your aim is for people to read and keep on reading then an RSS feed is your best friend. If you follow the first two rules, and then remind people after reading your quality, unique, readable and interesting content that they can easily keep track of what you are writing about then this may just get people coming back for more.
Conclusion:
The above ProBlogger sites have plenty of great advice, from the probloggers themselves as well as the contributors to their Birthday Bash competition, please read and reward those who may have something you can learn from.
